About the volunteering opportunity
Around 8 residents take part in the group activities in the "Am Lakegrund" shared flat for people with dementia. A music therapist is already on duty for the music therapy session and needs your support.
Here it is up to you to create an exciting atmosphere with the support of a music therapist.
Every Monday afternoon from 1.30 to 2.45 pm, you can take part in music therapy and provide creative highlights.
We are looking for committed volunteers who enjoy communicating with the residents and can motivate them. A simple "Wow, you did a lovely job" can go a long way. A one-off assignment is possible, but it would be ideal, if you live nearby and can volunteer regularly.
Your Tasks
- Accompany the residents to the music therapy sessions
- Motivate the residents through empathetic communication and encouraging words
- Support the music therapist by actively participating in the group activities and giving the residents a smile
- Decide flexibly whether you want to invest time regularly or selectively and become part of an enriching community
What's needed
- Enjoy working with older people
- You should enjoy music, contact with senior citizens and communication
- Be willing to engage in new experiences and enrich the quality of life of the residents through your commitment
