Advise seniors on appropriate housing and financing options

GWA Gemeinsam Wohnen im Alter gGmbH was founded in 2020 and rents out and manages living space in the form of shared rooms for senior citizens at a total of four shared apartment locations in Berlin and Leipzig. As a non-profit organization, we do not work for profit. By renting or buying living space and subsequent age-appropriate conversion, we can offer needy senior citizens an affordable form of housing in old age, which is an alternative to the usual forms of housing.

We are looking for support for the voluntary advice of needy senior citizens in the Berlin and Leipzig area regarding the appropriate form of housing in old age and the financing and promotion of housing and care.

Do you enjoy working with older people, are emphatic and have experience in geriatric care and / or social work with senior citizens? Then you announce yourselves with us!

In the project it concerns the consultation of senior*innen and their members over the different housing forms in the age in particular is to be informed about ambulatory cared for housing communities for senior*innen.

Besides the topic emphasis of the different housing forms the consulting achievement is to extend also over the topics financing of care and rent as well as promotion possibilities of living and care achievements.

The consulting achievement has the goal of supporting with the choice, the suitable housing form in the age, and is free for the clients. The consulting service can be carried out by phone/email from any location, we can also provide a venue in Berlin or Leipzig.

Your Tasks

The dedicated persons take over the counseling activity of seniors by phone, email or in the personal discussion. The advice given to the senior citizens is free of charge and without obligation.

What's needed

For the counseling activity we are looking for people who carry out the counseling on a voluntary basis. Ideally, the volunteer counselors have experience in geriatric care and/or social work with seniors and may already be retired.

Time required

One of the main activities of our company is the renting and leasing of suitable living space for senior citizens and people suffering from dementia. A second thematic focus, is the free consultation of seniors and their relatives about the various forms of housing in old age and support in the choice to find a suitable form of housing.
