Where?
Lighthouse Welcome Center
The Lighthouse Welcome Center is a cooperation project between Diakonie München und Oberbayern and Lichterkette e.V.. It is a small wooden hut next to a short-term accommodation facility in Munich. The refugees who live in this accommodation have usually only been in Germany for a few days or weeks. This raises many questions. The Lighthouse Welcome Center is run by volunteers who serve free coffee and tea. The aim is to make initial contact and have an uncomplicated conversation at eye level. The refugees learn about life in the city and the volunteers get to know the refugees' living situation. The Lighthouse Welcome Center brings a piece of welcome culture to Munich.
