About the volunteering opportunity

Radio Okerwelle, the non-commercial, regional citizens' radio station in Braunschweig, broadcasts daily around the clock. We present a diverse program with topics from politics, sports, culture, business and social issues.

The senior citizens' editorial team has its fixed slot Monday to Thursday after the 3 p.m. news with the magazine "DABEI nach DREI". Here you will find an overview of our previous topics.

Since our broadcasts are recorded, there is no obligation to be present in the studio.

In addition, you should know that we do not expect a complete broadcast from you. Short contributions (5 to 6 minutes) are absolutely sufficient, especially in the initial phase.

Would you like to join our editorial team or participate in our broadcasts ? We are looking forward to meeting you

Your Tasks

The senior editorial team currently has around a dozen members aged 60 and over. And we are always looking for new members, preferably younger.

We research, conduct interviews, compile texts and music and then prepare the whole thing. We work alone or in teams with other members of the editorial team. Mutual support - especially in the technical implementation of the content - is a matter of course for us.

Our editorial meeting or our weekly meeting:  Thurs. 10 a.m.
Location:  Karlstraße 35 (Brunsviga), 38106 Braunschweig
Contact person: Verena Radkau  0531-33 15 68 or Andreas Petri  0176-31413905

Take contact with us simply by phone or by mail here via vostel.de

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.

Volunteers should enjoy dealing with regional topics from politics, culture, sports and business and prepare them for the program together as a team.

Time required

Regularly
Discussed individually
On weekdays, during the day

Except for the participation in the editorial meetings, we do not make any specifications. You can freely divide the time for your broadcast or your support.

But from experience, you can assume about 4 hours per week.

Important notice

Fun formulating, fun searching for topics that might interest our radio listeners and fun developing new broadcast concepts and formats together. Your ideas are welcome.
