About the volunteering opportunity

Despite great baby happiness, for many families the normal madness begins at home after the birth: the baby cries, no one shops, the sibling is jealous or the worried father does not yet have parental leave. At wellcome, volunteers lend a hand to families who need support and relief in their everyday lives after the birth.

We offer our volunteer team regular exchange meetings, free training, insurance coverage and reimbursement of travel expenses.

Your Tasks

As a wellcome volunteer, you make everyday life easier for young families with a baby, when everything goes haywire in the first year after the birth and there is no local support from family or friends. If you want to relieve families in this challenging situation, then wellcome - Practical help after birth is the right offer for you. Practical and close to everyday life, you will stand by the families where the help is needed such as.:

  • Caring for babies and/or siblings
  • Accompanying them to the pediatrician
  • Feeding babies or in Carry out stroller
  • Play with babies and / or siblings
  • Support with advice and assistance

You create short breaks in everyday family life that are needed to get used to the new situation and help to make the family adventure a success right from the start.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.

A special professional qualification is not necessary for this task. The decisive factor for a volunteer position with wellcome is personal competence. Important virtues are discretion, reliability, composure and, of course, a loving and safe interaction with children.

We require an extended police clearance certificate from all our volunteers. A corresponding letter with which you can then apply for this free of charge, you will get at the familiarization interview with the team coordinator.
